KATHMANDU: Eight people have been arrested for betting and advertising on the banned online betting app ‘1X Bet’.
Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested eight people, sources said.
According to police sources, popular artists of Nepal are also among those who were arrested for playing betting on 1XBet and advertising it.
According to police sources, two of the arrested are comedian Marichman Shrestha, widely known as “Balchi Dhurbe” and Raju Paudel, known as Raju Master. Police have withheld their names for the time being.
Those arrested are alleged to have advertised 1XBet through YouTube.
The investigation of the police has revealed that five people are doing 1XBet business worth Rs 74 crores.
