KATHMANDU: The Bal Gopaleshwar Temple located in the middle of the Ranipokhari in Kathmandu, is open today on the occasion of Bhai Tika.
Rajunath Pandey, Chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Force and Senior Superintendent of Police, shared that the temple traditionally welcomes devotees on the day of Bhai Tika.
“With all preparations in place, the metropolitan police will oversee the arrangements to facilitate a seamless and safe experience for the worshippers,” stated Pandey.
The Bal Gopaleshwar Temple holds special significance during Bhai Tika, where siblings who may not be brothers and sisters partake in the ceremonial tika after offering prayers at the sacred site.
Following the closure in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake, the temple remained shut for several years.
However, after reconstruction efforts, the temple, now restored in 2077 BS, is once again open to devout followers, marking a renewed era of spiritual celebrations.
