Art historian Sanyukta Shrestha to shed light on Tantric art of Amoghapasa

KATHMANDU:  The Museum of Nepali Art (MONA) in Kathmandu is hosting an interactive program with an art historian Sanyukta Shrestha about how Tantric Buddhism in Nepal influenced the iconography of Nepalese traditional sculptures.

As part of Let’s Talk Art,  Shrestha will shed light on the Tantric art of Amoghapasa at MONA, Kathmandu Guest House in Thamel. The event will take place on August 12 at 3 pm.

The interaction will involve a thorough discussion of how Tantric Buddhism has influenced Nepalese traditional sculpture, using Amoghapasa as a case study.

Shrestha is a UK-based art historian who specializes in Nepali art. Associated with the Link Up, he has been teaching art and history in the UK.
