Senior Artist Ganesh Sayami Felicitated

KATHMANDU: Senior artist Ganesh Sayami has been felicitated publicly amid a program this morning . A 55-member committee led by artist Rajendra Man Shakya honored Sayami in a ceremony held  in honor of artist Sayami’s unparalleled commitment to the social sector by joining several Nepalibhasha organizations.

Janakabi Durgalal Shrestha honored him with a shawl and a note of gratitude during the program. The committee also contributed a monetary sum of 175 thousand rupees.

Vice chancellor of the Nepal Bhasha Academy Malla K. Sundar, Chairman of the Honoring Committee Rajendra Man Shakya, Comedy King Madan Krishna Shrestha, senior musician Amar Raj Sharma Rajopadhyay, ward chairman of ward no. 17 Naveen Manandhar, senior journalist Suresh Kiran Manandhar, and others spoke about Sayami’s personality and contributions.

Sayami stated during his address that he is exceedingly pleased with the felicitation.

As Lok Kabi Rajbhai Jakahmi read a poem on Sayami during the program, numerous organizations also presented him with certificates of appreciation.

There were several notable people in the program, including veteran singer Bhriguram Shrestha, businessman Narayan Das Manandhar, Dr. Chunda Bajracharya, and committee members.

Ganesh Sayami has directed numerous theatrical comedies and dramas. He was involved in the language movement in BS 2022 and joined the group “Muna Sah” in BS 2033 to promote political awareness against the Panchayat system, which also includes Madan Krishna Shrestha, Ramshekhar Nakarmi, and Shri Krishna Anu. He spoke out in favor of democracy and has made a name for himself as a talented performer who can put on enjoyable shows.

He also served as Nepalbhasha Manka Khalah’s founder treasurer.
