KATHMANDU: A 6.3 magnitude earthquake with an epicentre at Chainpur of Bajhang district of Sudurpaschim province jolted west Nepal on Tuesday.
According to the National Earthquake Measurement Centre, Surkhet, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 was felt in the district at 3. 06 pm this afternoon.
Earlier, a tremor of 4.6 magnitude was experienced at 2.40 pm.
The details of damage caused by the tremor are still to come.
Earlier too, an earthquake with its epicenter in Bajhang , and Bajura occurred several times. Nepal’s hilly and mountainous areas are considered a vulnerable zone for earthquakes.
